Real Experiences of Counselling

Taking the step to begin counselling can feel uncertain. Hearing how others have experienced the process can sometimes make that first step feel a little easier.

Every person’s journey is different, but many clients describe feeling more understood, more grounded, and better able to move forward in their lives.

A Space to Be Heard

Counselling is not about being “fixed” or given advice. It is about having time and space to explore what matters to you, at a pace that feels comfortable.

The reflections below are shared from previous clients who have experienced counselling in different ways.

Mark is a warm, caring listener. We worked together for over a year during which time he supported me through a range of different dilemmas, emotions, thoughts and feelings. At every step of the way he was attentive, non-judgemental, and supportive (whilst gently and affectively helping me to challenge myself). I felt that he really “got me” and that whatever I brought to him was met with love and understanding. My time with Mark helped me through some very tricky times…I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I met Mark around 10 years ago when we both were volunteering in a counselling capacity for a national and very worthwhile charity. Mark’s kindness and compassion went before him then. That he has gone on to continue this great work and make his unique skills available to all, is benefit to us all. Thank you, Mark

Thank you for being there when I needed you, and seeing me when I needed to be seen.
